Dennis was born and raised in the Greater Flint area. He graduated from Swartz Creek High School. He now lives in the Lake Fenton area with his wife Brenda. Dennis is a graduate of Ferris University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He enjoys playing swimming, running, bicycling, and playing with grandchildren.

Dennis is very involved in his church. He has served on various boards and committees and volunteering in other areas.

He always looks to improve his education and now holds the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, as well as the Chartered Life Underwriter as well as the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living designation.
